In early 2021, we had a little bit of snow in Lincoln. Photographs taken in the snow at night, using long exposure techniques, show the unique quality of light reflecting from the snowy landscape and I took a number of photographs late on several evenings. I think they're quite special - and I hope you do too!
I post my photography regularly on social media - Instagram, Facebook and Twitter - and quite a few people who saw these images asked if they could buy them to display in their homes. So I have made them available here. This particular picture is taken from the north side of the building, next to the newly opened Dean's Green.
The Old Deanery was part of Lincoln Minster School for many years and the surrounding Dean’s Green was the playground. Over the last two years, both have been carefully restored and renovated as part of a National Lottery-funded project. Fenced off for over four decades, as it formed part of school boundary, the newly open Dean’s Green has been beautifully landscaped with lawns, flower beds, seating and a water fountain. All visitors can now enjoy the peaceful, outside space and marvel at the magnificent view of the North-side of the Cathedral, which until now hasn’t been fully visible.
I think that this makes this fine art print even more special.
All the photographs you see here are being sold as limited editions. Each one will be delivered with its own certificate, showing the edition number and my signature. Each certificate is embossed with a unique holographic authentication stamp.
Each photograph is Giclée printed on Canson Baryta Fine Art Paper. This is a pure white Baryta base archival quality paper with excellent black density, contrast and reproduction of detail. The Baryta base creates whiter whites and deeper blacks whilst the silky smooth reflective coating enhances the detail and definition of the images. Take care when handling your prints as it is a sensitive paper. A border has been added to the S, M & L prints to make framing easier.
